AROMA 1: LAVENDER

Aroma number 1 is Lavender essential oil, sourced from France. Somewhere between a floral and a herbal scent, it's a unique, heady aroma that is reminiscent of the landscape of the south of France.

Sometimes the wines of South of France have this aroma, which may be because the aroma compound, present in the atmosphere, finds its way onto the grape skins. It was shown that this is the mechanism by which the aroma of eucalyptus finds its way into Australian wine.
