CRISP & SALINE PICPOUL DE PINET
3 x Domaine de Mirande Picpoul de Pinet 2018
Fresh, crisp and dangerously drinkable white from France's coastal Languedoc region. Picpoul means lip stinger in local dialect. A lipsmacking, lemony, almost briny white wine. More concentration that your usual Picpoul, this ones brings the fullness AND the crispness that is the hallmark of good Picpoul de Pinet.
LIGHT & DELICATE ENGLISH WHITE
1 x Stanlake Park Bacchus, England, 2019
Bacchus is a contender for England's flagship grape. It can be wildly herbaceous, but this example has been tamed into somehing much more delicate and genteel. Fresh and crisp, with a hint of elderflower and cucumber-like freshness.
A light, delicate wine, perfect for garden lunches. Only 11% abv.
ZESTY & FRESH CORSICAN VERMENTINO
1 x Dom. Culombu Tribbiera Blanc 2018 (Organic)
100% Vermentinu aka Vermentino - the Mediterranean's archetypal white grape perhaps? Versions of it are found all over the Med, famous for its lemony aromatics and often saline fresh finish. Lemon verbena, lime. A saline finish with a hint of almond.
PALE & PEACHY PROVENÇAL ROSÉ
1 x Chateau D'Ollieres Rosé, Coteaux Varois en Provence, France, 2019
A dry, pale pink rosé from Provence under £13, that won't line the pockets of Private Equity? You're so welcome. Made from a traditional Provencal blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. C'est classique.
ZESTY & LIP-SMACKINGLY FRESH ENGLISH ROSÉ
1 x Stanlake Park, Pinot Noir Rosé England, 2019
A dainty nose of fresh strawberries and roses define this elegant pale rosé.
The mouth is full of pink grapefruit, passionfruit and a surprisingly long lemony finish. A truely English Ros(é), I'd enjoy this as an apertif with some British cured meats and cheeses.
VIVID & THIRST-QUENCHING ROSATO WITH ATTITUDE
1 x Calcarius Roz Rosato 2019 Valentina Passalacqua
Its deep colour in keeping with Italian Rosato, deeper and bringing much more
attitude than Provencal Rosé. Aleatico and Nero di Troia grapes bring a deceptively complex, aromatic wine full of energy, freshness and earthy red fruits. This is a Rosé that works really with food as it has enough structure and depth while still carrying the versatility of Rosé. Just 10% abv!
