Pouilly Fuisse, Domaine Christophe Cordier, 2018
A smooth, rounded wine with subtle oaky, buttery notes balanced with fresh, elegant notes of almond and white fruits.
Pouilly-Fuisse is an appellation in the Maconnais, one of Burgundy’s more southern
regions. The slightly more southern region gives wines with a riper fruit profile than their more expensive Cote D’Or counterparts (think Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet etc). If you’re a fan of white Burgundy the wines of this region can offer incredible value.
About The Producer
Domaine Christophe Cordier
From Lea & Sandeman: "This is the most exciting domaine in Fuissé (it is based at the top of the hill overlooking the village) and the wines are great value and qualitatively comparable with many in the Côte d'Or."
Growing in and around the Burgundy village of Fuissé, on the finest terroirs the Macon region has to offer, Domaine Cordier's vineyards are cultivated with the greatest respect for the grape and for the Domaine's pursuit of excellence. This is a family domaine, directed by Christophe Cordier, a winemaker determined to enhance the terroirs and coax out their full potential. The domaine produces fine white wines from the Chardonnay grape, often likened to the best Grands Crus.
