In wine, violet is a delicate floral note found in elegant reds such as Pinot Noir, alongside a leafy, red berried fruit character, Nebbiolo, alongside the characteristic tar & roses. Famously it appears in many high-scoring Pomerol wines, where it sits along side dark berry notes.
